The Overdue Update

Hello everyone!
I hope you're all doing well? I'm doing okay myself. My anxiety/ADHD has been a little hard to manage lately, hence the delay in this update, but you're not reading this to hear about me!
My original November 2024 shipping date was added when I had the belief that we'd get to the initial funding goal pretty fast, and I could get everyone started on the project as soon as we hit that. However, it took a lot longer to hit that goal than I anticipated, and so I couldn't get writers, artists, and designers started on things until the campaign ended. This meant we would be a good month behind where I wanted to be, leaving us with an end-of-December ship date.
As you may know, this just isn't feasible. Christmas causes all sorts of headaches when it comes to postal services, and so it makes much more sense to wait until the new year to ship a project, to avoid delays and packages getting lost in the rush.
However, production would also be affected in this time period, and so it has become apparent that shipping cannot begin until the end of February or March 2025.
I know this will come as a disappointment to many - I'm certainly disappointed myself - but it is a necessary delay in order to ensure that you receive the magazine you backed without any problems. As a result of the delay, the issue will now also become the Spring 2025 issue, meaning we start at the beginning of a year, which my OCD seems to like a lot more than Winter 2024!
Plenty has been going on since I last updated you though! I have had lots of work to do on Debug (the deadline for issue 7 fell right after the campaign for GENERATIONS ended, typically), but between all of that I've been speaking with my new art editor Jhonatan Carneiro to get all of the art commissioned (I can't wait to show you what we have), discussing and refining the design with Steve from DayOne, getting first drafts in from our amazing writers, and working with a company to get started on those incredible pin badges!
Speaking of which, here is your first glimpse of a few of those badges in physical form! I should be receiving these samples soon to inspect in person, and am SO excited to see them.
I'm also really pleased to say that we'll be getting even more of Sean O'Briens amazing illustrations in the issue, which is really going to tie everything together nicely.
Finally, I will be opening surveys and a pre-order store via BackerKit within the next week. I won't be taking payment for shipping just yet, but you can confirm your order, answer a few survey questions, and even add some extra stuff if you'd like! I've had a lot of people say they missed the campaign and want a way to buy the magazine though, so opening the pre-order store will allow more people to buy the mag, and help me get a better handle on print numbers before January.
So the next update will be announcing the launch of the BackerKit survey and pre-order store - keep your eyes peeled! Until then, let me know if you have any questions at all. I'll be sure to keep you updated much more often from now on!
